Last time I checked assists count as offensive stats Rondo knows how to run a offensive. I would take Rondo over a player like Melo.

Only for contract purposes since Rondo might leave Boston after this season. If Rondo was locked up for another 3+ years I highly doubt he would trade for a heartless player like Melo when Rondo is making everyone on the team better.
