You don’t need to be elite off the ball, but a point guard needs to have some value off the ball at least. That severely handicaps an offense when a player needs the ball in his hands to be useful. Rondo has been a poor shooter for the majority of his career and he’s too small to be useful in cuts to the rim so he needs the ball in his hands or teams don’t really have to worry much about him.
The fact basic shyt like this needs to be explained after we've been over this 10000000x already, years ago, is even more proof that these dudes should not be discussing the game. The funny thing about this is, these folks admitted they were wrong back then (some didn't even bother to show up when it was time to eat crow), and now they think it's cute to start layering the revisionism.

I was a long standing Rondo hater until he played for the Bulls. He wont get another ring unless hes playing a very limited bench role on the sixers in 3 years or something like that

so you’re saying rondo is a net negative for the Pels, alright bud
players have weaknesses, rondos strengths outweigh his weaknesses more than enough to justify keeping him on the floor and giving him the ball
I can’t believe there’s posters on here saying they’re better without him? Lmfao

Rondo had an offensive rating of 109 and a defensive rating of 109 this year. He had a PER of 15.3 which is just above the league average. His value over replacement player was 0.4 this season. His box plus/minus was -1.1, his offensive being -0.4 and defensive being -0.7. Numbers don’t lie :manny:

All that statistic shyt is for the birds as far as this postseason goes. Dude has lit a fire under them and every single one of them will tell u that

There’s probably less than 8 players in the game that raise a team’s ability in the postseason like dude

So y'all going ignore that the pelicians didnt have a legit ball handler in the beginning of the year. Do people not remember denver waiving jameer nelson only for a few hours later to be claimed by the pels. They instantly made :flabbynsick: jameer a starter as well. They desperately needed a decent PG who could handle the ball, because AD was essentially the backup PG.....

Who cares if he's ball dominant and needs the ball to be effective, no one else on the pelicans squad is even capable of doing that without over extending themselves(cousins /AD)

@Easy-E @Inertia Creeps @SubZeroDegrees how y'all letting this bs slide :what:

Don't bother, they're one of those nikkas that believe Lowry>Kidd because he can play off ball :mjlol:

@Gil Scott-Heroin and rondo are like water and oil, they just don't mix. Dude never has anything unbiased to say about rondo....

:dead: at you calling for help to back up your casual talking points. The fact you're trying to prop up Rondo by saying he's better than Jameer muh'fukken Nelson says it all.
