You guys are sounding like racist white people, blaming the EFFECT and not the CAUSE. In other words, this 17 year old is a result of systematic poverty placed on black people. Do we all have choices? Sure but its easier to make better choices when you have more resources. Im sure someone is going to quote me and talk about how they had a hard life and turned out fine. Well that makes you the exception and not the rule. Poverty = violence. Look at ANY country with poor people and there will be a lot of violence. Instead of shytting on people who are products of their environments we need to criticize the system for purposely letting our people turn into "savages" to feed the industrial prison complex.

I believe institutionalized racism exists, I believe in the effects that poverty has as far as molding violent individuals, etc. but in some cases, personal choices and actions outweigh societal impact

if this kid shot and killed someone who was close to me, I wouldn't give a fukk about his background or the outside factors that "forced" him to do what he did.
