, They saying lots of people still trapped in the debris, including the singer that was performing Ruby Perez , MLB's Neify Pérez brother.
They are also saying retired MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel is trapped in there , he was reported alive (contacted people via phone) just a few hours ago but still trapped in there. A governor of the Town of Montecristi was there and she is reported dead. SMH.
This is an old establishment that went through renovations and they slapped a second floor on an old ass building on top of putting two big ass central ac units and them loud ass speakers booming and they had a fire a few years ago.
SMH shyt is crazy how out of control is the construction and expansion of the city of Santo Domingo's going with no proper planning and permits in the last 20 years the population has ballooned to 3-4 x what it used to be and people just do whatever like slapping a second and third floor on and old house just put a few beams on the garage area. And this is rampant just building everywhere to do air BNB ,and then bribe officials to avoid fines in some places people even do construction on the middle of the street and take over the side walk
