Mal said he recognizes Joe is the Star and that he deserves the most. He just wants his percent they agreed on from the jump.
Others have said this on here about this situation and I completely agree: Joe seems like the type of of person that devalues what the others bring to the table because he's the "star" of the show. But others have value and they need to be compensated accordingly.

Look at the Howard Stern show. Howard Stern is obviously the star, but you have the others like who are very valuable assets, and I'm sure they're paid accordingly because Stern knows their worth (especially Robin).

From what Mal is saying, this definitely seems to be the case with Joe

That noncompete probably won't hold any water. The issue with noncompetes is judges don't really like stopping people from earning an income. Especially with us still being (or just getting out) of a pandemic. First of all I feel like the courts are so booked that by the time he even gets a court date that 1 year timer is going to be up. Then if he does I still feel like the judge would rather allow them to earn a living for the time being and then figure things out during the case. Now if that non-compete offers them money for that year they can't podcast then it'd be a different situation.

That's just it. The only way non competes are ever enforced in any industry really is if the company trying to enforce it has some kind of compensation package for the person, often accepted at termination. And even then, in some industries (entertainment esp) they could have the option of turning that $ down in order to be free of the clause all together from day one.

I paid and watched. Can't lie, they seem very credible. It's a little funny that they also just call everything "Accounting", like anyone in the world goes into any business and asks to see the Accounting :lolbron:

But if they are profit partners, they deserve to see the ledgers :yeshrug:
