right because Luol Deng and Kevin Durant are the same caliber small forwards
Because Boozer is just as good As Bosh
and because Keith Bogans is better than james harden

In the ocean where the sharks be at
can rose defend wade the entire game and remain efficient on offense?

:rudy: Russ beasted but lets not fake like Wade hasn't been :trash: the majority of the offs, which is most likely due to that busted up knee he dealing with.:comeon:

And lets kill all that efficiency talk since before this game the nikka was shooting 41% from the field ... after just finishing a series shooting 37%

In the ocean where the sharks be at
Rose (Defense '10/11 - best of the last two seasons/due to this season being a sample size e.g. Off-screen - 0.36 PPP):

Overall - 0.77 PPP allowed
Isolation - 0.61 PPP allowed
P&R Ball Handler - 0.73 PPP allowed
Off-screen - 0.80 PPP allowed
Spot up - 0.92 PPP allowed

Westbrook (Defense '11/12 - best of the last two seasons):

Overall - 0.88 PPP allowed
Isolation - 0.83 PPP allowed
P&R Ball Handler - 0.85 PPP allowed
Off-screen - 0.98 PPP allowed
Spot up - 0.99 PPP allowed

"Rose has allowed just 0.77 points per possession overall on defense this season, an elite mark for any defender, regardless of position. Chris Paul (0.86 points per possession allowed), Rajon Rondo (0.83 PPP allowed), and Russell Westbrook (0.92 PPP allowed) –- all excellent defenders -– have been trumped statistically this year, and by no slim margin. Rose has each of those players handily beat, and boasts a shockingly comprehensive defensive profile. Rose is particularly effective in defending isolation sequences, where he allows just 0.61 points per possession."

Rose had more blocks than Lebron last season + 1st overall blocks for a PG (21 more than 2nd place) + 2nd overall perimeter blocks for a guard (3rd overall blocks).

Said statistics are certainly not the be-all and end-all to thee argument, as it doesn't weigh in eye-tests; team-defense/help-defense influence; opponent-matchups; weight of offensive-load; defensive-intangibles - but it gives you a general perspective of where they both sit, in terms of defensive ability/efficiency.

Bottom line is - Westbrook isn't a much better defender and it's certainly not crazy to think Rose is the better defender.

Numbers kobe would die for in his last few finals.

Rose is better than Westbrook. Or was, considering his injury. Not a knock on westbrook, but Rose is a far better ball handler, shooter, and defender. He also plays much better under control.

He does choke on freethrows though.

I think Russ is a better shooter.

Rose has better form on his J, though.

:whoo:

you are entitled to your opinion but in no shape of form is rose a better defender or shooter than westbrook stop it. until rose guards the top 2 sg in the league and put the team on his back i think its extremely close

IMO, the only thing Rose does better than Westbrook is finish around the basket, he's more controlled in the air... but aside from that, Westbrook is basically better at everything else
I've been saying this forever.

Westbrook and Rose are the same fukking player.

:usure:

Rose -

08-09 season: 3-9 ft (45%); 10-15 ft (41%); 16-3point (44%)

09-10 season: 3-9 ft (53%); 10-15 ft (47%); 16-3point (44%)

10-11 season: 3-9 ft (36%); 10-15 ft (42%); 16-3point (40%)

Westbrook -

08-09 season: 3-9 ft (32%); 10-15 ft (36%); 16-3point (37%)

09-10 season: 3-9 ft (36%); 10-15 ft (35%); 16-3point (38%)

10-11 season: 3-9 ft (31%); 10-15 ft (35%); 16-3point (37%)

And Rose's numbers are even more impressive, in comparison to Westbrook's, considering he has been the sole/dominant focus of defenses for the majority of his career.

Russ vs. Heat in the Playoffs - 2012
.625% 7reb 5ast 43points (game high)
.467% 7reb 6.75ast 29ppg (series average)

Rose vs. Heat in the Playoffs - 2011
.455% 1reb 6ast 28points (game high)
.350% 4reb 6.6ast 23.4ppg (series average)

OKC took the L & most likely are done but, Westbrook played his heart out tonight.

Im objective enough to be real about OKC having better pieces than CHI.

If you can't be objective enough to see Russ put his team on his back against Miami tonight in a way Rose couldn't do last year.......then

And before you reply with some smart-dumb nikka comment, it wasn't JUST the fourth quarter where the Heat played a variation of a diamond1 junk defense on Rose, they basically played it throughout the whole series. Rose was the dominant creator and scorer - they focused solely on shutting him down.

Have you idiots seen Wade play that nikka aint done nothing all postseason. Stop acting like he not gettin off due to Russy's defense.

And Bron stuck Rose alot when the bulls played them in the postseason. Lets not forget that important fact

playing both sides of the ball matter fact the only player that is.

:what:

Wade put up 19 PPG on 40%, 2 APG, AND 4 TO' agansit the Bulls last ECF.

As well as what other posters said, I don't think Rose was the same in last years playoffs after he sprained his ankle against the Pacers.

I think the point he really missing is how russ is defending wade can rose defend wade the entire game and remain efficient on offense?

rose cannot guard wade and be the focal point of the bulls offense. that's asking too much. and neither could russ if u put him on the bulls. like everyone has said, russ can afford to take plays off on offense or have a shytty shooting night cuz he plays with the top scorer in the league.

no he's not. rose is a better passer and defender than westbrook. westbrook is a better rebounder obviously. I'm still waiting on the day when teams start double and triple teaming westbrook for the duration of the game to get the ball out of his hands.
