A lot of white guys hate on Pac not just for the obvious reasons but he was their gateway into rap. I remember this clown on another site called TheNK he hated Pac with a passion but admitted Pac was who he was listening to when he started hiphop, his favorite rapper was Ghostface Killah.

For their hiphop card a lot of white people distance themselves from Pac smh, i mean even gwenth paltrow shytted on Pac and i notice a lot of blacks hate on Pac because he was so powerful and still is and so young too. anyway the truth is in the numbers they can keep trying to re-write histroy and shyt on our heroes but the cream will always rise to the top. Pac is a world wide icon, that list is beyond garbage :bryan:

:snoop:

why even bring this up -
u sound like u dont even know wbat your talking bout

Not having Tupac on the list is like omitting Jordan from the basketball hall of fame. It doesn't work. These nikkas debating about body of work but nobody in their right mind would say any of Cole or Kendrick's projects are better or more impactful than AEOM, MATW and Makaveli

They left out Pac because it would get people talkin as it has. They wanted attention from people like Snoop so they got what they wanted. :manny:

Why do they keep mentioning small body of work keeping guys off the list when Big is at #1?
So size of body of work is an issue with Big Pun and Big L but not with Biggie?

First Rosenberg says somebody doesnt has that size of body of work and then later says size of body of work doesn't matter it's about the quality?

:martin:

:yeshrug:
when that body of work is complete flawless -it is what it is

plus... biggie was on twice the shyt as pun & L
jr mafia, badboy & other collaborations

Tbh, I ain't the biggest pac fan and personally prefer big, Nas, and Jay but you can't make a top 10 rappers list and leave off Pac. Anyways there was a pretty insightful reddit post that I saw on click bait lists like these. They intentionally leave off a person everyone knows should be on there to stir controversy. They get way more hits releasing a controversial list than one that isn't. The entire "journalism" (if you'd call it that) industry has gone to compete shyt
That's all that needs to be said. Pac is my favorite rapper of all time time, but even if he's not your favorite the fact that he was left off this list shows the agenda that's being played out. Rosenberg shytting on Pac should enough to have him fired and blacklisted from all radio stations because that was just ignorant, and his love for Kendrick is fukking disgusting and shows he doesn't know shyt about hip hop.

Cole doesn't come close to Kendrick as a rapper. He's a solid rappity rap rapper who doesn't do anything particularly great. Not a good storyteller, not evocative or poetic, is not creative on the mic, and he doesn't really have records I'd say are truly amazing or seminal. Nor does he have any albums that you can say are truly great. FHD is the best of the three albums he has, but I don't see it as some amazing work or a classic.

All that being said, putting Kendrick in a top 10 is laughable. I think he has potential to get there, but it's too early. He doesn't have nearly as many classic records as the dudes on that list. And he needs more albums.

No doubt they belong, but I've seen tons of top 5-10 lists without them on it, particularly top 5's, but i don't think i've ever seen one without 2pac, shyt is just clear personal distaste from whoever made this shyt. People are giving this shyt too much attention and relevance though, in essence this weirdo who made the list is saying Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne (and Lauryn Hill, lol, she was a beast but she's been MIA for how long?) are greater than 2pac, Cube, Face, Common Sense, LL, Redman, etc... i don't think something so dumb even warrants attention. and, squeezing Rakim on there sticks out like a sore thumb, they just did that cause they thought it'd add some sort of credibility because he's from the 80's and people mention him on message forums, lol, bet whatever that they never heard a rakim album.

First off, i just wanna respect you for coming at me respectfully. When you discuss 2pac or Biggie ever since they died people go bonkers if you don't praise them as gods basically.

I know it's frequent to see them, but just like you said about Rakim - imagine 2 dead rappers who were way more mainstream?! So it's kinda the same but even worse. But i do feel it's crazy to think that unless you put them on there it's some bugged out shyt. That says alot about hip-hop in general.

You're right about Lauryn. I love Fugees/Lauryn, but she's living off 1 solo & 1 group album (that the public are most familiar with). She's very talented but she didn't put that much of a dent in the game. Most of her album was written songs by others too. Like one of those run-of-the-mill industry albums with alot of behind the scenes collaborations in terms of writing etc. But other than dat it's based on image. That she didn't shake her ass or whatever - which is GREAT!, but IMO still doesn't matter when you talk about GOAT rappers. As far as female mcs, she's up there. Her, Lady Of Rage, Yo-Yo, Eve, Latifah, Lyte & etc are up there in my list.

Lil' Kim's music was cool but i feel like i could see thru the business strategy with her. Like mostly a performer (with tons of rappers & a giant team) to female market. Nicki is ALMOST the same.

Dog, this is what they do! Now people are discussing this. This is literally the same shyt that has been happening each year since 2006. Remember them MTV hot list? Remember the MTV all-time list? Remember Complex list? XXL list? The list goes on.

And as always people go for it & discuss it. Radio (ie. Hot 97) knows the game too. But they play into it too cuz it's a hot topic and eventually they'll get ratings too.

They do this. And they also know it will cause a reaction no matter what it is. So i feel you, but i don't think alot of other people can think that far.

But once again i salute you & feel you on some points.

Leaving :pachaha: off that list really had people coming out of nowhere stating their opinions :mjlol:. I don't even think most of y'all like him that much but I see why this is causing an uproar. Those Hennessy/Enemy lines are :mjlol: tho
