Drake's is the monotone sentence flow where he basically talks and never changes his flow. Like that fireworks song on his first album. No hate but that's his flow.

He didn't change his flow or cadence until NWTS.

Well, in some cases this is true. Young MC was not Tone Loc. I dont have a problem with THAT scenario. The problem people have with Drake is different. Tone Loc made a living off of party type songs. He never compared himself to the other MC's of that time. Drake embodies the braggadocious MC. He embodies certain aspects of hip-hop. He proports to be a dope MC. Writing hooks is different...but if anyone every wrote even a portion of a verse, then I dont see how you cant be viewed as a fraud.

tricky. the question isnt really if Drake can write dope songs/raps. most singing lyrics are not advanced poetry or profound, its more about melody, harmony, vocal acoustics. hip hop is advanced poetry, but it also is supposed to be your identity. Anyone can write a love song for someone else. the moment a person writes your rap, the track takes on their identity and discards your own.
