Rosetta Stone is pretty cool...I enjoy the user interface and visual reinforcements, but I would recommend you load Pimsleur on your phone and listen to that instead if u had to choose one learning method.

The back n forth conversations spoken in the language you're trying to learn is :whoo:

Livemocha is quite a cool community for learning, haven't tried Rosetta Stone but I can vouch for Livemocha

RS is good for aiding in learning a language but it won't teach you. It's good for training your ear to listen to sounds but the most important parts of speech like grammar, conjugations, etc. it won't teach you. Those are things you will probably have to learn in a classroom or with a tutor

Rosetta Stone is dogshyt. Use it and you'll see why. It doesn't actually tell you what the word means, just a picture attempting to show what the word means. Therefore, you'll get discrepancies on different people's interpretations of what the picture means.

Pimsleur is nice. Helped me pass my Spanish exam.

I'm out here in Spain now and let me tell you none of this will help you tryna understand these Spanish people any better. No entiendo and no se are my two most commonly used phrases.

Using it right now in chinese class, we have a 30 min run of it. I personally don't think it's that great for chinese, they just randomly introduce new words like these and them, but don't even tell you that nor do the pictures really give you an idea other than it could be the 2. :wtf:. then them nikkas are trying to teach you characters WITH pinyin, like really? AND they don't even tell you about the tones, but want to introduce speech recognition, fukking bytch. AND WHEN IS CONVERSATIONAL CHINESE GOING TO BE INTRODUCE IM ON LEVEL 2 WTF?????

sorry needed to vent that out, cause I've been frustrated this past week in class.

It's great for the latin based languages tho (english, french, spanish etc) :manny: go figure.
