it's actually amazing if you think about it. 50 was supposed and should have beat ross by a landslide. 50 had every single thing in his favor. he had 7'xs the fanbase ross had. he at that time had wayyyyyy more money and power, he had sold a lot more records, 50 street credibility was more verifiable and known. and 50 had the biggest haymaker any rapper had ever held previously before -


the under dog who sold us wild coke dealing by the boatload stories was previously a corrections officer aka "the police" and had pics to prove it...how could ross even get a budge for another album once 50 finished him off like it appeared he did Ja Rule.


Ross made better music simply put..he stepped up his bars, production, style, and business sense..most importantly it was the music...he starting killin' shiiit....then 50 turned into a unfunny reality TV star in a jerhi curl

i mentioned this before but if you really look at it, 50 and Ross are in two almost completely separate rap eras. In 2007 50 was falling off due to the Curtis/Graduation competition, and Ross just released his first humongous single. Ross was pretty lucky that Fif was already on the path to music obscurity (of course 50 is a pop culture icon nowadays), but I really would've liked to see 2003 Fifty against 2010 Ross...
