Am a give general advice since i participated in these before.

Fully crafted beats i.e intro chorus verse and transitions. lean more towards traditional but if ur confident in your trap beat drop it since a fire trap beat can and has won.

Mixing matters alot......u could have the better beat in theory but if the shyt is muddy you'll likely lose. And of course this is a battle so bring your best bangers

Anyway both good beats, the first one is clearly a chill intro type beat that sets the tone for an album..still in comparison to interloper its still missing some ummph lol

Voted for interloper see previous review posted that bigrod deleted:hhh::stopitslime:

Am just jk by the way:hubie:

Everything is judged. it's difficult to put a pulse on you have to go by feeling. It's difficult to win these things. When it comes to someone like a DBR who's been making beats for years, he has both quality mixing and interesting production. So you have to have both. It's ok if you felt your stuff was better both now and then. But overtime your ear will develop and you will start to here things in different ways, and you will then have a better understanding of why people voted the way they did. If you had slightly better production here along with the quality mix you displayed you probably would have had this as well for instance if you entered the intro track from the last thread and had smacking drums with a quality mix---well then this battle would have went different. Keep producing. you will get where you want to go eventually. When these things don't go your way, just remember the battles themselves don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
Dope post...hell no disrespect to @Mugen but he's a newcomer to the tourneys...once the heavy hitters, including yourself, who have been making beats AND competing in a battle format for years get started next week he will start seeing EXACTLY what you are talking about:wow:

Just for the record @Interloper I rock with ya track. However, I just see some of this shyt as generic. A criteria narrows down what is to be submitted. Then you get everybody’s true best and it ain’t just going off opinion.

Originality is strongly under valued.

We gone see though.

SMH don't do this fam :martin:
@LauderdaleBoss there's always one in EVERY tourney :hhh:
Fam don't try to shyt on the next man or the voters because YOUR perception of what people should think of your beats. Dog we been doing these tournaments for over TEN years. Do you really think YOU can come in and question how it's to be ran???
full

My man in THIS tourney alone you have cats who have had placements with labels, artists etc...we even have a 13 year old prodigy who is signed right NOW to a major artist/label and I hate to burst your bubble but I couldn't see you competing with ANY of those guys :yeshrug:. Hell I been coordinating these tournaments for over 10 years and I haven't won ONCE :mjcry: but what I DID do was take the criticism and studied the guys who I KNEW were better at the time and used it to my advantage to get better and I really feel like THIS year I'm walking away with this shyt. :mjlit:
Basically I suggest you check your ego at the door and used this shyt as a learning tool. You are REALLY about to see it's some cats on here who have REAL talent. Stay tuned :sas1:

I know fam. It never fails.

It prolly wouldn't be a real tourney if it didn't happen tho. :mjlol:

I'm digging both tracks for different reasons:

Mugen's track vibes and the melody gets addicting toward the end. I like how calm the mix is but it almost lacks too much energy.

Interlopers intro into the beat drop is crazy, reminded me of some older KRIT energy. I enjoyed all the variations, the middle part sounded like some shyt I would hear at a basketball game to get the crowd hype. My main critique is that its pretty loud, especially on the headphones.

I got Interloper for this one.

Good shyt brehs, dope battle.

:salute:

I actually prefer the vibe of Mugens beat tbh, but like someone said on here it would be much better for an artist to lay vocals over it. I think the only thing that was missing was added texture/layers to the drums or maybe more use of percussion, I really fukked with it though.

I went with interlopers in the end because I was really impressed by the texture of the drums and how dope the transitions were. One thing my productions usually lack are transitions, I tend to only put short beats together like 1:30/2 minutes max.
