:damn: i'm looking for a good router brehs. just moved into a house that's 3 times the size of my old apt. I need a dual-band router with decent throughput (its gonna be in a central location so i'm not trying to break the bank.) y'all got any good suggestions?

I'm using the Netgear N900... a few years old, I bought for around $200. I flashed DD-WRT CFW on it. Runs like a champ. I'm in the market for a new one.

Power line adapters are great. You just have to make sure the outlets you want to use are on the same circuit. You just plug it into the wall, put an Ethernet cable into it from your router, then plug another one into another plug close to what you want to have internet on and run the Ethernet cable out of it to the device you want. No real set up needed. Should take 5 - 10 minutes if that. It runs data through the wires already in your walls. It works just as described. I had some net Gear ones that worked like a charm.

My TP-Link adapters takes seconds. Just plug and go. No setup needed at all. By the time I plug it in the wall in one room and walk to the other room it's already ready to go.

I got the RC87U from an Amazon warehouse deal for almost half off this year and haven't looked back. DDWRT has it working like a champ.
