I kinda agree with you, except I love the skits on the album. They add to the songs/story, and aren’t just there to take up time.

Death is Certain is a great album, and a personal classic of mine, and this album almost reaches that level, but falls short because of the songs that have no business being on there. Caterpillar, Legendary, Summer On Lock, Amazing, and First Of The Month are automatic skips for me, but the highs of the albums are so great, I don’t penalize it so much.

Death Is Certain - 5
Book Of Ryan - 4.0
Rock City 2.0 - 3.5

The rest of his albums are forgettable imo.

Success is Certain was lowkey a 4.0 album too :ehh:

saw dude few years ago, and agree..

produces his own sh!t.. has a great live show, and makes great albums.. there aint a rapper out there, who has all of those components..
I'd say Odyssey for sure but I haven't seen em live yet.
From what I gather though on top of writing and producing, he has a band for live shows like Black milk.

Saying he makes terrible albums is a huge leap. That he doesn't live up to his potential album wise? Maybe?

Compare him to Crooked I, Ras Kass, Jadakiss etc. who are similar in their rapping ability and he's got the better catalogue.

He's got "Death Is Certain which a lot of people would call a classic. Then "Street Hop", "Prhyme" and "Book Of Ryan" which are all great albums.

"Success Is Certain", "Layers" and "Prhyme 2" are all good albums.

The only albums of his that are below average to me are "Rock City" and "Independents Day".

That's a hell of a batting average to me.

I swear the coli has some of the worst music opinions ever, especially when artists get a bit of a raise in profile. The only "terrible" album Royce has is his first one, that had that awful ass single produced by Trackmasters, and that album was more forgettable than actually bad. Death Is Certain was dope, and probably the closest to a classic he has. Independent's Day was nice too, loved that song with Yo Gotti. Street Hop was very good but could have used maybe 4 less tracks. Success Is Certain had a couple dope tracks, but that album was clearly put together solely to piggyback off of Hell: The Sequel. Prhyme was obviously a good. Layers was ok but the mixtape that came out before was better. Prhyme 2 was nice but something seemed missing from it, didn't have the punch of the first. That leaves Book Of Ryan. another very good album that basically sounds like a more mature and calm version of Death Is Certain.
