Joe took it a bit further than saying "this ain't the Eminem I was looking for", which is what Royce is getting at.
He went as far as saying that "Em's team" were exploiting black people by releasing Untouchable and marketing the album as anti-trump, as if being anti-trump means pro-black or something. He also brought up Paul's move to Def Jam, whether he was qualified for the job and also pointed up that he gave someone from Complex a job over there as well which he thought was suspect from the way he brought it up.
No matter how hard he tried to weasel around "Em's team" doing xyz, it still came off like he was saying that Eminem himself was exploiting the black plight. That's beyond a music critique. Him questioning the hiring of Paul is valid, but nobody in their right mind would say that was either necessary to say or a good look.
