he probably wouldn't even drop on Aftermath since Em was getting all that exposure, he would've been on the shelf collecting dust which is the sad truth.

This logic makes no sense to me. He would have been put on in Obies place, he was on Ems album and there was heavy buzz around the two of them.

maybe, but Obie was Proof's cousin so that also might of been why he dropped. that was Em's right hand man :yeshrug:

not just new life. The first time I ever heard people talk about Royce was when that Boom joint came out and we were all losing our minds.

He owes his entire career to Premo imo

they've made some good music together too

I figure most people know, but a 200k budget is far different from getting 200k.

And unlimited Dre beats doesn't mean shyt if you can't get a release date. Ask Rakim, Hitman, Raekwon, Joel Ortiz, Bishop Lamont, Stat Quo, Slim the Mobster, and a billion other solo acts that never got put on the shelf during their Aftermath tenures.

When Busta Rhymes was finally able to release The Big Bang in 2006 I was shocked. I was also shocked when Raekwon was able to use a few beats from Dre that he got during his time there when he finally released Linx 2.

What solo acts from Aftermath actually got used? Eminem, 50, Obie, Game, The Firm, Eve, and Truth Hurts? Can't be many more than that.

Wasn't Ice Cube signed to Aftermath at one point?
Cube was offered a deal around Next Friday I think , Bizzy Bone was offered a deal too

You could still invest a million, and made so much more. Which tells me he probably burnt it all.

Dre the king of shelving rappers. Its a wonder Kendrick already has three releases under his belt over there.
