It honestly doesn't even feel like Kendrick is a aftermath artist if that makes senseDre the king of shelving rappers. Its a wonder Kendrick already has three releases under his belt over there.

I figure most people know, but a 200k budget is far different from getting 200k.
And unlimited Dre beats doesn't mean shyt if you can't get a release date. Ask Rakim, Hitman, Raekwon, Joel Ortiz, Bishop Lamont, Stat Quo, Slim the Mobster, and a billion other solo acts that never got put on the shelf during their Aftermath tenures.
When Busta Rhymes was finally able to release The Big Bang in 2006 I was shocked. I was also shocked when Raekwon was able to use a few beats from Dre that he got during his time there when he finally released Linx 2.
What solo acts from Aftermath actually got used? Eminem, 50, Obie, Game, The Firm, Eve, and Truth Hurts? Can't be many more than that.
Wasn't Ice Cube signed to Aftermath at one point?
back in the day them Dre beats was a staple of accomplishment knowing you working with one of the best producers in the game, i wonder how an Royce album with fully produced tracks by Dre would've been![]()
good decision plus we got actual material over his career.
go out like bishop lamont brehs![]()
em got d12 out, and they were successful. royce would have had at least a bleek type push for one albumhe probably wouldn't even drop on Aftermath since Em was getting all that exposure, he would've been on the shelf collecting dust which is the sad truth. he's still well respected for his pen game.

But Bishops been off the label for how long and still ain't released shyt. When he was on the Math we got 3 dope projects from him, fast forward years and he still hasn't dropped the debut. At some ppint you have to take the blame off the label and place it on the individual.
Hittman, Last Emporer, Truth Hurts, Gage etc haven't done shyt since they left. All King T and Hittman have done since leaving is drop albums of leftover Aftermath material and nothing else.
I def think they dropped the ball on Stat but it sounds like Em played a big part in that when Stat didn't wanna use his track as the lead off. He basically washed his hands of duke after that.
