You're (probably) right; I didn't really even think about the young players when I posted it (we know those cats will eventually get All Star berths). I mainly meant of the guys that have been in the league for a while. I can't think of anyone who has been in the league as long as Gay has who has his amount of talent. I'm also 100% sure you can't name "plenty others" either.

Yeah I never quite undersood the reasoning behind trading him.
If I remember correctly the raptors were doing pretty well & kyle Lowry, derozan, & Rudy were basically close homies.
Then they just traded him away mid season.

It's just for 2 seasons...He's a veteran and also likely gets along with the coach and help implement Atkinsons system...Most importantly you would also get a 1st rd pick that you all could utilize in a package to move up or use it to select another player who is cost controlled...Just imagine for simply accepting 2 years of Carroll you get your choice of Donavan Mitchell, Harry Giles or even take a swing at a guy like Diallo.
