:wtf: is this nikka talking about?

The Knicks, Bulls, Hawks, Cavs, and Suns were genuinely bad, young teams. Zion would have been a much better career fit for any of those teams.

The Pelicans and Lakers made it in the top 4 as two teams that underachieved and by the end of the season were tanking. LeBron James was shut down and by the end of the season even the young guys were sitting.

The Pelicans put Anthony Davis on a minutes restriction just to spite him.

The Pelicans and Lakers were TANKING.

This new system is complete bullshyt teams that deserve top picks will be continue to be screwed in years to come.

fukk Sam Hinkie and the 76ers. :pacspit:

He not saying they tanking.. the overall outcome is what he talking about. Like if you DECIDE to tank, it isnt a sure thing u will get the pick, which is crazily true

Man the little ole Pelicans pissed off Laker and Knicks fans in the same season, and they barely even did shyt:mjlol:. this is crazy
This isn’t about the Knicks or Lakers

I’m a Knicks fan I knew the possibility of not getting Zion was real. I expected us to get the 5th pick actually. I’m an NBA fan as an NBA fan, Zion landed on one of the worst franchises possible for the future of the league.

People think this stopped tanking because the very worst teams didn’t get him when in fact a disappointing ass, tanking squad got him.

I wouldn’t have gave a fukk if the Cavs, Suns, Bulls, Hawks would have got him.

They didn’t have to restrict that mans minutes or stop playing him. He was under contract and the trade fell through.

A tanking team won the first overall pick which shows the NBA was completely ineffective in curving tanking. The NBA didn’t even reprimand the Pelicans for doing that to one of the very best players in the game.
The Pelicans had to protect their trade asset. They never planned on AD/Rich pulling the most public trade demand ever. If AD waited until the summer to say he wasn’t signing they wouldn’t even be in that situation

Why should we be happy about the possibility of building more mediocre teams ? Small markets have zero leverage now to compete or build a team.
That’s not true at all this big market small market shyt needs to stop.

Portland and Milwaukee are small markets in the conference finals.

The Jazz, Blazers, Spurs, Thunder have pretty much been models of consistency the last 20 years.

Meanwhile the Knicks and Bulls have sucked.

Free agents don’t give a fukk about markets Paul George didn’t go to LA.

Small markets have leverage to build teams because the NBA has a cap and shyt like restricted free agency and Bird rights.

I think most teams start off the year by playing hard, competing ..but by the all star break, when they’re 7-31, they just give up

Plus the outcome of this lottery don’t mean the next one will be the same

Pels just got lucky as hell :yeshrug:

Portland took damn near 20 years to make the wcfs again, bucks luckily hit on Giannis after so many failed draft picks. It's much easier to develop thru the high lotto than to hope for a Giannis later in the draft

Portland has been a perennial playoff team for the better part of the last 20 years. They’ve had their shot. Who knows what if Brandon Roy doesn’t get injured.

Being a perennial playoff team is good for ownership not for fans
