How long have people been able to live from YT channel earnings? I thought that was a relatively new occurence, like from the last ten years. The girl in the story is what 11-12?
Sounds like a bogus story used to make a point.
Same story different era. Same shyt been happening to Child actors in Hollywood

People have been able to live off of youtube earnings closer to 15 years.

Also, kids should have a right to grow up without their every move being broadcasted on social media.

the difference is tho child actors in hollywood is heavily regulated now.

these youtube/tiktok/influencer "family" channels have zero regulations. shyt is wild. kids basically doing forced labor for their parent content.

it's wild to me a state hasn't drafted up some kind laws around it by now. some of these parents are truly sick.

my wife showed me a video the other day of some cacs who literally wrapped their baby in saran wrap like dexter morgan for some tiktok clout. luckily CPS was called, but they still got their kids back after an investigation. :skip: :mjpls:

I'm obviously against the exploitation of children. If the article said that one parent was able to quit work, it would seem like a more believable story. Just seems like a far fetched story to make the point.

The Truth
Most YouTube people I watch don’t even put their kids on it or rarely if that…

I’m an adult though, I am also not there to watch them gotdamn kids

These “family” content channels be trying to cater to kids. Like some goofy, fukked up, disney channel and once them parents realize they don’t have to work hard or for a boss anymore they gonna do whatever on camera.

But it does take away from the child especially if the child didn’t have a choice. I look forward to seeing who this person is at 18. Sounds like a showbizz family mindset

:dwillhuh:

The article clearly states both parents stopped working and that part is screenshotted in the tweet.

lol, you don't think it's possible for parents to quit their jobs to do youtube videos? ... because it's definitely happening
Happening NOW, sure. Happening back when the story is framed? Possible.
Can't get more clear that I think the story is exaggerated to drive the overall point home.
