Reports Suggest iPhone X Production Could End This Summer
Apple is planning to cancel the iPhone X, according to a report by AppleInsider. As written in a “research note” obtained by the site, renowned KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that production of the iPhone X will end this summer.
Despite pre-orders for the model selling out immediately, Kuo says that the decision to cancel the phone is based on poor sales in China.
Kuo puts this down to the controversial “notch” which is seen as using too much screen space, with many Chinese consumers opting for the cheaper iPhone 8 Plus model.
This is the first time since the 5C in 2014 that Apple has discontinued a phone after one generation, however, iPhone X fans don’t need to get too upset, as 2018 will see three iPhone X-inspired designs be released.
Apple plans to release a second-generation 5.8-inch iPhone X, a 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus and an even cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone SE that will retail for approximately “$650-750” and include Face ID.

I've seen these phones in the wild and even though they have oled screens and the ugly ass notch not withstanding, its still not fukking with the Note 8 and Galaxy 8 screens.
if this is true. 
if this really means they figured out how to implement the under screen face ID technology by the next release in September/October.
