Last thing we need is giving roles to singers and athletes who can't act only to look over the dozens of talented brothers and sisters who can act and have paid their dues. You think DC has had trouble getting their footing in film before, put those two as the leads in what is to be the kick off to their DC film universe and there'd be a lot of trouble

I think Miles Morales story has a lot of potential that can relate to a large demographic. When I think of Green Lantern I think of John Stewart because that is the one I grew up on and identify the most with. With "Venom" I think of Flash Thompson. With "Robin" I think of Tim Drake. I think as time goes on and Miles plays a bigger role in the Marvel Universe especially if he becomes the definitive Spiderman after Marvels 2015 Secret Wars Summer Event, he may grow on people especially the younger generation.

But if they want to make Miles a name associated with Spiderman to the general public. Putting him in a Marvel movie is they way to do it.

Could that be another selling point for Miles Morales? What moves the media needle more? A sixth Peter Parker Spiderman movie taking place in High School with a 3rd actor playing him and Aunt May? Or a new secret identity, that has an ethnic/race controversy angle to it? The media attention on a Miles Morales Spiderman movie would be thick! You would have nerds writing thesis' on why it is and isn't a bad idea. The media spotlight for MM would be white hot compared to another PP movie.

i think I said the reasons earlier. Do you really NEED one before the other or is that just your preference? What would happen if they tell an origin story leaving out PP? It's impossible to do? The movie would bomb?
I disagree about some PP payoff. He's had 5 movies. If that were the case they should have just kept Garfield. Now they want to make him a teenager again? Tell and Aunt May/Uncle Ben story again, gwen or MJ story again? That's what people want to see? I'm not so sure.

Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man because of Peter Parker, after he dies, you can't have one without the other. There is no legacy Spider-Man in the world that the Marvel films are set in. Peter Parker(with the red and blue suit) is the definitive and trademark Spider-Man that everyone knows and wants that's why the announcement generated all that buzz as people are anticipating the character being put into the same world as The Avengers and eventually joining them. There's zero payoff with a different version. Marvel didn't reshuffle their films to accommodate Spider-Man, their biggest character, with the thought of using Miles Morales or Ben Reilly .

If Spider-Man is going to be integrated into Marvel's cinematic universe then they had to start from scratch(with they're doing) don't need the baggage from the last entry of films that the fans and public clearly weren't receptive to.

They're gong to skip all the romance, origin and Uncle Ben stuff and focus on his high school years as Spider-Man and supporting characters e.g. Liz Allen, Flash Thompson, Mary Jane, Eddie Brock etc characters who are his age.
