They don't have to wait. If Days Gone could sell the way it did despite the reviews then TLOU2 is going to sell like hot cakes. They'll get another boost in sales for when the PS5 releases especially if they announce enhanced BC.

There may not be a "PS5 version" considering that they announced PS4 BC for PS5 a while ago. I suspect when PS5 launches there will be day 1 patch that enhances the game and allows it to be played presumably taking advantage of the PS5 hardware.
No damn way I would hold out on a story like this for however long a remaster would take. I’ll do this just like the first one: cop on release then cop the remaster when it’s $20 and I’m ready to run through it again
Dont care about sales talking about the game from a technical standpoint.
Making it a next gen exclusive would have cost them the PS4 user base.
And TLOU2 was advertised as a PS4 game from the jump. It would have came out sooner if the team didn't have to deal with UC4.

There was another post from that site earlier this morning saying that Sony would announce a State of Play for this in a few hours, it's 2:38 PM now.
Ah ok. I was kinda expecting them to double up tomorrow since we already got Death Stranding coming for sure
