Sony seems to be doing OK.
And it’s way past time to stop blaming EVERYTHING on the pandemic.
Sony went through this during the PS3 years. The third party exclusives dried up after the PS2 era and their sales falloff due to the $600 cost and the 360's earlier success so they developed their own internal studios better then. What we see now is the fruits of 15+ years of internal studio development. Some of these studios date back to before the PS2.
Microsoft for the most part didn't start taking gaming seriously until Phil Spencer got in charge of it all.
they have been in the console business for 20 years. Gaming Software even longer.

All of those studios have shown you what they're on, or they dropped something within the last 3 years the (ZM dropped Fallout 76 in '18, inXille released Wasteland 3 dropped last year or 2019)
Expect studios to churn out games round the clock in a pandemic brehs

Prior to a fex years ago, MS didn't really invest in Xbox. Up until Phil taking over, MS didn't really throw their $ into gaming like that.
You can't compare the previous years of Xbox to now. Ffs, they spent like 10B+ in acquiring studios, and MS(both Phil and Satya) have said they're not done getting studios.

So I don’t get it if you knew microsoft wasn’t investing in xbox why are you still a die hard xbox fan 6 years later? If sony gave up on releasing games last gen but came out with gen with nothing but promises i would NOT be rocking with them. shyt makes no sense.
In what world would it be acceptable for a company to be like, “yeah, we weren’t really trying last gen, but dont worry we got this new guy on board and he cares, trust us”

Ok, let's count up the Sony published games that have dropped on the PS5.
Miles Morales - DLC that uses the same assets from Spiderman
Demon Souls - remake
Ratchet and Clank- very high quality AA game that is based on a long running franchise(Rift Apart is more R&C, which isn't a bad thing), RA is probably on the same engine as R&C 2016, and likely has the gameplay as previous titles(strafing; slingshot, grinding on rails, etc)
Returnal - highly scored game, but has bricked consoles, and isn't the most stunning looking game(1080p/60 isn't anything to go crazy bout)

From late 2011 to August 2019, I was mainly on Sony platforms. Since I got a PC, PC has been my main platform where I play multiplats on Steam/Epic and Gamepass titles. I've only touched my PS4/PS5 to play their 1st party exclusives.

Yet if I list Gears Tactics; Hivebusters, Psychonauts 2, Halo, and Forza Horizon 5(all of those games are 1st party titles, and either have released or will release this year on next gen hardware), you'd say "that shyt don't count

You're not wrong but during all those years that Microsoft allegedly didn't care about gaming they were still rolling out every June bragging about the number of exclusives and world premieres they were going to have for their show at E3. It's tough to have it both ways here.
While yes, it is quite unreasonable for people to expect these new studios to have stuff ready immediately, this is a corner they painted themselves into. They've spent most of a decade telling everyone "Don't worry, we got you", and not rewarding the faith and patience they've asked for. At this point, it is what it is.
