Montreal and Vancouver already had pro franchises and lost them and it’s Canada. One team is enough.
The NBA has come back to former markets who failed several times. Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto, Washington, Indianapolis, Denver, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Charlotte, and New Orleans, all had at least one NBA team before the one that exists today, and Charlotte and New Orleans have happened in my lifetime.

I don't think Canada will get another team but I don't think the reason is because Vancouver had a squad before and lost it; the NBA has shown throughout its history that it will return to markets who struggled prior (and Montreal never had an NBA team).

Silver confirms ownership groups from Montreal and Vancouver have approached him on expansion, but any thing in the future will be down the line:

That is probably after the next CBA. The ability to say “we can expand to two more markets” and see a cap increase is something they can dangle in front of the players

I'll still surprised St Louis hasn't been discussed since the Spirits left. GOAT uniforms.

St louis is like the Midwestern Memphis

And im not saying that to talk ish... but they at the low point of organized abandonment
This. Players would hate it, no FAs would wanna come there either. Vegas is Vegas and would have player interest, Seattle has tech money and is somewhat of a pipeline state, produces a lot of high level basketball players, so it would be a destination.

As far as Canada goes, hard to see it happening since it took LV and Seattle so long to get the ball rolling, the first rumors of them was 10+ years ago. I'd imagine it'd take that long or longer for another expansion to happen, let alone to Canada, hard to see it.
