Yea you move the joystick to the right when the camera angle changed and pressed a button sometimes but you literally hold the joystick. This game is the biggest offender of hand holding in games.

Sonic wasn't that good imo neither was Mario.
Best platformer to me was that Mickey Mouse game on the OG Sega Genesis. Sonic and Knuckles was ok.
Best 3d Platformer was NOT super mario 64, it was Banjo Kazooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Mario 64 was boring.
