[RUMOR]Sony bringing ps2 classics to ps4?

So a while back, there was an article that pointed out that ESRB ratings had popped up for some ps2 games on PS4 (in Europe)

Ape Escape 2, Dark Cloud 2, and Twisted Metal: Black rated for PS4 in Europe

Then there is a mod on the PSBlog confirming that games will have trophy support and be in the PSStore.




And as of today here was a reddit post which showed some one streaming siren(ps2 game), from a ps4 on ps live:

And lastly, if you think back to a lil over a year ago, there was speculation that sony was working on a PS1/2 patent that would give classics trophy support and native HD

Cool but I'm more interested in ps one titles. Got a few games like Chrono Cross I didn't beat as a kid.

It has to do with the fact that I HIGHLY doubt Sony would allow physical disc backwards compatibility on the ps4. It conflicts with their major investment in PSNow. All that gaikai blah blah blah amount to almost nothing given that psnow isnt priced realistically. Props to them if they do both. But I think business wise it would only make sense to cut their losses, shut down psnow completely, and just let everyone flat out buy the old games digitally. Let's not forget how people got screwed out of their digital content too. Some people had huge digital libraries on the ps3 and now cant play them because Sony wants to force psnow on everyone.
I'll add that even though Sony is winning right now, if they want to stay ahead they need to address backwards compatibility properly. MS continues to add features while Sony is banking mainly on a lower starting price point. Which has worked for them, but puts them at risk of being caught up too, and possibly, even though not likely, be overtaken.

Eh,ill disagree. Backwards capability is definiitely cool and welcome but it ultimately means little to nothing in console sales.

The ps3 sold better once BC was removed. Wii U has BC,it aint helping.


Not adding BC will not mean much of anything. Its not going to hurt them at all. Realistically its a cool feature but the majority of people are not buying ps4/xbox one to play old games.


Psnow isnt going to be shut down anytime soon
