Rumor has it they don’t want the exclusive license, the NFL wants them to keep it because it’s cheaper.
EA wants them to open it back up because it costs a lot of money for that license and they are tired of paying it. But the nfl basically bullied them into paying

I actually bought it for the 1st time since '18 or '19 and its decent to me, but it could get interesting if more players start speaking out
I don't believe that line from EA at all
I expect lots of athlete's have the same opinion regarding the games connected to their sport but keep it PC for branding reasons. I can imagine boxers playing Undisputed like

Im loving it. Every year for like a decade I would play the demo or trial and not feel it after just 1 game. But after the first game playing this I bought it. It's so much to do in franchise and they finally added highlights from other games at halftime and in the weekly recap.

I’m actually enjoying my team builder franchise. Although it sucks you can’t modify your team after you’ve started and you can’t preview them in play now mode. 
But the gameplay is pretty good and I’ve seen some dope animations I’m having some great games. I’m getting my football fix. This game is just better than college football in every way
