was going to try and catch an afternoon showing of this today, but earliest showing near me is like 7pm. Not even tryna be in there with that type of night crowd. :flabbynsick::beli:

Guess i'll catch a saturday showing.

Shyt, when I copped my tickets, the theater was completely empty....it's like this shyt ain't got nearly the buzz that The Long Walk had. I'm sure a few stragglers will cop tickets by the time if my showtime soon but for now, shyt is ghost town.

They would've never gotten me to leave the slums, not even for a billion dollars :banderas:

That was a nice lil head nod to the 87' joint, having Arnold on the 💰.

This was a much more faithful adaption than the OG film. You can tell Edgar Wright is invested in the source material. He pretty much captured (almost) everything beat for beat, plot wise, and damn near down to the dialog, give or take.

Brolin smoked it as usual. Domingo chewed up every scene he was in and was pretty much made for the role.

Mr. All American himself, Daniel Ezra, poppin' up was a nice surprise lol. This is the first real movie I've seen him in and when they let him just be Bradley, he was cookin'. That goofy ass conspiracy blogger role they tacked on him was not it though.

All in all though, I felt like it lacked the real bite it needed to really take it over the top. The movie captures the plot....but not necessarily the rage or anger that King wrote the book with. The whole time I was watching, I was trying to figure out what tone they were gone for.

I knew they wouldn't stuck with the book's ending in this one for sure....wife stabbed 60 times along with baby? Nah. Plane flying into the Gaming network skyscraper and then cuttin' to black? Hell nah. But I think they could've still circumvented those things and still pacc'd a gut punch in there somewhere.

I did not need Ezra's character on no goofy conspiracy time to be one of the last images I saw by any means :martin:

But maybe it works for the masses cuz my lady liked it and when I told her about King's ending, she asked why he always tryna kill everybody :mjlol:

With the exception of a few scenes, this didn't feel like an Edgar Wright film.
This felt like the typical, "I need to cash in on my previous work" type of projects that indy creators always do.
Wright disappointed me with this one.

Glen Powell was good and seems worthy of his Hollywood push.
Jayme Lawson is so bad it doesn't make sense. :noah:
Nice seeing Daniel Ezra on the big screen, he did well with his role.
Coleman did his thing and measured up to Richard Dawson's energy from the OG.

I got the AMC pass joint, this worth the time? Might see it tomorrow afternoon but not hearing much noise
