He went OD on the skits, but the songs are mostly good to great. I think it's a victim of following three classics and a great album, and being a bit experimental. :ehh:

I been listening back to Red’s albums today and I had Malpratice on while driving around running errands and you right, it’s not as bad as I initially thought, especially if just judged off it’s own merit

It’s his first weak album but there are still moments on here where he’s spitting, the main compliment is all the skits and some of the beats being that where just not as bass driven and not as funky

But all in all, you are right :myman:

I take back what I said before about the album

Thats how i saw it. Malpractice while not bad compared to what came after (I'm looking at you Reggie) is where you can see the fall off starting to happen. I felt since Doc's Da Name really got him out there and that Platinum plaque he stayed on that wave whereas before he'd switched up every album.

Bingo! Yup.

Looking back, it’s interesting he only released two singles off Malpractice

as with a lot of artists, no matter how good some albums may be, they may be seen as bad or wack if not on par with the classics in their discography. Nas and Rae have made some dope albums in their career, but unfortunately, they've never made anything to equal Illmatic and OBFCL. Redman suffers from this for everything after Muddy Waters. Malpractice wasn't a bad album at all. I've never regretted that purchase.

Yeah I’m going back things albums again since I had been listening to a lot of Erick Sermon production

Doc’s Da Name was the last great Redman to me, with Malpractice just being alright but there just compared to his previous efforts

But it’s definitely valleys, peaks and miles better than Red Gone Wild, Reggie, Mudface and Muddy Waters 2 for what it’s work

@Tommy Gibbs

The more I look back and listen to Red’s albums again, and look back on his years in the game from 92’ to 01’, those were his years of being the top dog

By the time Red Gone Wild came out, he was MJ on the Wizards status
