Can you post a screen shot?

what changes does it bring?

Well, it basically looks the same except that you have the option to boot to desktop, and then when you hit the start button, it brings up the ALL APPS screen in the desktop interface instead of switching to Metro. You can still get to Metro easily if you want to, but it doesn't act as the centerpiece of the OS anymore. The other great thing is that it gives you the option to search EVERYWHERE when you do a search, rather than separating it into apps, files, and settings, which was annoying.

Basically, it behaves like an enhanced windows 7.

Seems slower tho.

i was playing with windows 8 at work and it was nice, but i just feel like 8 is only a small upgrade from 7 so it's not worth updating it right now. if 8.1 impresses me tho :patrice:

You can get there by hitting the start button then an arrow appears that allows you to select Metro from the ALL APPS screen. You can do it so that start still takes you to Metro, or you can set it up to act the way it's always acted. The point is that you finally get the choice to customize it the way you want it rather than having to constantly deal with two interfaces.

The best part though is the enhanced search functionality.

I know this is slightly off topic, but if you're on windows 8 and you only want to live on the desktop... the combo of startisback and modernmix is a beast. Startisback replaces the windows 7 start button and modernmix makes all metro apps run in desktop windows. I like it.
