He's really a sg playing pg.

he makes too many horrible decisions down the stretch. Taking bad shots when they're up. His eagerness to be the hero of the game when he has another superstar that he can defer to when needed.:francis:

He relies more on athleticism than basketball IQ and skill.:yeshrug:

Was watching First Take and :comeon:&:skip: said the same thing I was saying, if Durant is going to stay they need to move Russ to the two, or at the VERY LEAST experiment with it and get a good PG to backup or even start.

SAS threw Conely's name out there and I was like :ohhh:

Can you imagine...with Russ speed to be able to go back door/come off screens...it's hell trying to guard him one on one but as one of the faster players in the league how tired would you be having to chase him instead of standing in front of him 50% of the possession waiting for him to bulldoze you or jack up a stupid shot?

I think it could work, but he would have to buy into it. Maybe move Kanter for some shooting and maybe to make room for Conely or at least somebody competent...but damn he would be dope on OKC.

Been saying this for years and it's crazy cause they had their facilitator and passer in Harden who was/is a playmaker extraordinaire with the rock. They could have let him be the point guard and could have put Russy at point and things would have worked perfectly I believe. Cause Harden at that point and probably even going forward didn't mind being the 3rd wheel for them.

Naw Harden did the right thing, I don't think you're gonna win a championship with an undisciplined Westbrook. He either needs to learn decisionmaking skills or just become a slasher and call it a day. He's still a freak of nature, just gotta improve mentally

the ether
Can anyone who disagrees with the OP please name the elite point guard who was a worse decision maker than Westbrook? I'm not coming up with one on my own.

baby, that was the old me
So you're saying VC can average 20+ points a night in the post like an MJ or a Kobe? :rudy:

Not the post necessarily. He's decent at that tho. His strength is he's one of the best off the dribble shooters to play the game. Especially in the midrange.

Tough shot taker, tough shot maker
He's efficient and has been more perimeter based for a long while now. His athleticism was just a part of his game. Not the whole thing

Please tell me you meant in his prime, because it seems you're insinuating he's one of the best off the dribble shooters of all time, if so nikka you can't be serious :laff:
