I cant speak for everyone and I know things can hurt our pride but at the end of the day the concern should be that if there are additional adults in the child's life that they should love and care for them.
Is the stepparent a good person? Do they love my kid and treat them well? Then for me were good.

you really not a single parent in the poverty out of wedlock making sense, tho.
So, you self equated from your better level of parenting than the real life situation of creating poverty in purpose as a single parent.
Again, I can't excuse the errant mismanagement socially and publically by two single parents and the fiance.
