All those guys you mentioned are inexpensive. None of them are $50 million guys

And Wilson also has a lot of playoff tape on him, and the team's chances of making it far are small

I do agree with others that this move does seem out of spite from Sean Payton

Fair enough. All I’ll say is fans/media have been grossly incorrect about the QB position over the last few years. People are hypercritical and prisoners of the moment, and under-estimate the impact of scheme, coaching, weapons, defense, etc

So pay real close attention to what Russ does next year on a cheap deal. The Vikings now have a top shelf defense to go along with those weapons. The commanders could grab MHJ and Pair him with Terry annd Dotson…. the falcons have turned the corner on defense and have 3 top 10 picks on offense. Imagine Russ + Ben Johnson + Bijan, Pitts, and London. He’s in a far better position to succeed than the broncos

If the Vikings were going to go after Russ, then they'd be better off just running it back with Cousins.

The problem with Russ going forward is that you'd have to have faith in your coaching staff and scheme to help mask his current limitations. This isn't the Russ of Seattle anymore as the mobility just isn't there now.

Facts.

It’s not just his legs, that height limits what you can do from a scheme perspective. Defenses are catching up and just attacking the sidelines isn’t going to work like it used to. You gotta be able to work the middle of the field. These smaller guys just make it so much easier on defenses to stop them unless they leave the pocket.

Hell Tua even at 6’1 says he misses WRs in the middle of the field because he can’t see over the line. Russell’s issues with that are well documented.

Plus you can get cheaper versions of current day Russ in the draft yearly.

With Russ last two years on tape, I can't see another team giving him a chance to start right now.

He's a backup or out the league.
