I was on the mindset that Russian isn't that good and should be happy with 20 mill a year. However after some thought I realized a few things.

1. Seahawks were severely mediocre without Russ, but with Beast mode and the same defense pretty much.
2. Ryan Tannehill is getting 19 mil for not being a liability at the QB position. Good QBs are a hard to find and even average ones are getting paid close to 20 mil.
3. Russ has a huge upside. He's been deep in the playoffs for 3 seasons, to the super bowl twice, and is coming into just his 4th season. Mind you he's done that throwing to who?? We haven't seen him at his peak yet, the best of Russ is yet to come.
4. If the Seahawks pass on Russ, who they gonna get??

They had him for next to nothing for 3 years. Its time to pay the man.

when all these other qbs were signign their 19, 20 million dollar per year deal the salary cap was 20 mill lower than it is now, cam newton contract will come into play when the cap wont even be at teh level it will be when russells deal will begin.

Russell has one of the best supporting casts in the league in Marshawn and that running game. He is by no means a bum, but the idea that he can put the team on his back and consistently lead them to victory (aka a Franchise QB) is unfounded. He's talented and his running skills are elite, but he is less important than the defense and Marshawn, which is why you see Seattle dragging their feet to sign dude. The Colts run through Luck, the Seahawks don't run through Russ. He hasn't had elite wr talent like some other QBs, but nothing i've seen from him has shown me has can be that dude.

That being said, Seattle needs to pay the man whatever he asks for
