I feel like at this point, critics would point at the United States and its allies for indirectly causing a lot of the instability in that region over the past maybe 20-30 years.

Ok. So we're here, now what to we do?

NOTHING. As long as our interests are not in jeopardy, we stay the fukk out of the Middle East. Leave these people to their own devices, tell our allies in Europe to shore up their borders and hold their heads.

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

See...THIS...THIS RIGHT HERE is what happens when you meddle in other peoples affairs! This constant desire to flex and offer fades to anyone and everyone is and was always a bad fukking idea! Now that whole region is in fukking chaos! So the US is now like you know what? fukk it...we did we had to do ( :beli: ) and if ya'll are not trying to get down with this democracy ( :troll:) then go ahead and do whatever you're trying to do over there as long as it doesn't fukk with our paper.

That's exactly what it is right now. That's why Russia going in is whatever because their economy is not doing well, there is unrest among their people, and if they want to waste money trying to chase a goal that doesn't really exist then so be it.
Thing is, I can only fault Obama for not lopping Assad's head off when he had the chance.

Cause Iraq kicked us out and we could have never negotiated to stay there politically without some serious strong-arming.

But what would be the endgame there? After the flex what's next??

Literally the moment a Canadian kills one Russian soldier, its all over for Cnananada. Yeah sure, 250k soldiers would mop the floor with the current Russian deployment. But after that its a wrap for the Canadians.
Canada doesn't do shyt without the US saying so.

Santa don't want it with NORAD

Theres no "end-game"

Its merely management of keeping shyt in our favor.

The communists of Russia don't pose as much of an ideological threat anymore and are just an authoritarian ice kingdom now as merely an outright competitor so now its about massaging the inevitable outright war against islamists looking to project international jihad (WHICH IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING DESPITE WHAT FLUFFY LIBERAL DENIALISTS WANT YOU TO BELIEVE) and china starting to project itself.

Basically, Putin doesn't want a unipolar world but he's not posing himself as a legit threat yet so its hard to just push back on him without looking like the bad guy. China is out here trying to avoid outright invading neighbors and flex on everyone...

So we're just in a global stalemate where young muslims around the world are getting programmed to infiltrate and piss off everyone else (read: Chechnya and Uigyurs and South Europe and South America :snoop:)

We're just keeping a lid on things while most Americans assuage their guilt about being winners and simultaneously letting their guard down.

When I see Obama, I see even greater reasons for black Americans to buy into American hegemony and protect what America means ideologically at the expense of everyone else.

That was a shot at me so next time just @ me. The reason I mentioned China is because Homey boy @Orbital-Fetus said Canada would attack with Nato backing them up over the air. Russia is already beefing with NATO and America in Ukraine so if they try some fukkery in Syria then of course its a full blown war. Russia would call on their allies and millions would die.

But even if you compare Russia to Canada straight up 1 vs 1, Russia would turn Canada to a parking lot in 30 days. DO YALL LISTEN TO MUSIC OR JUST SKIM THROUGH IT?

No better way to build up your economy than defense spending. Shout out to the U S of A.

The Brits and Dragon are doing an end around on our treasury and bond markets.

a superpower can't do military battles with a treasury running on borrowed money and fumes.

as the wise man said, it's global chess, not checkers.

China to issue short-term debt in London

I think the point is what do you have against him and what threat is he to you? thats none of our business. we will just shamble another country like Libya..whats the point?

my point is, Syria was going to be a clusterf*** one way or another. at least with our influence we could have easily planted a puppet in power instead of dealing with this isil issue.

you mean like libya, iraq and afghanistan? do you know what kind of people are in power in those countries?

we dont actually install puppets anymore, we allow free elections, which almost never go in our favor. look up libya man. wtf. assad is stable and he is no threat, there is no fukking reason to be fukking with him other than powerful people want more energy and influence. stoppit.
