Syria is fukked. They might as well just give the Kurds a nation in northern Iraq and Syria and let them redraw those borders.
Its a battle of bad choices, and assad makes it difficult to support him.
Ive been to Syria and Lebanon and I had a good time and always planned to go again, I was only in Syria for two days but from what I saw it was really nice..
damn shame.....
In a way its good Obama is going to leave office soon because whichever president inherits this bag of shyt is going to be criticised regardless of what action he takes....

I always found this argument stupid because its too black and white. Just because I personally dont agree with Syria turning into another Libya doesnt mean I agree with all of Assad's polices. But the funny part they wont tell you is that Assad is still loved and supported by a lot of his people. The majority of refugees still living in Syria live under Assad. I have friends there and no they dont love Assad but they dont want to live under some bullshyt sharia law either.
But if we take out Assad we get a whole list of genocidal manics who will turn the country into a war zone, which is apparently what HL wants. Syria was once the safest countries in the ME and one of the few secular ones. Guys just think about it. What if the republicans who hated obama start a civil war and all of America's enemies fund and support them. Would yall be sitting here just chilling or would you be upset about this foreign country trying to overthrow your government.
And no @88m3 I don't Stan Russia or Syria, but im sick and tired of this country overthrowing governments and then acting surprised when theres people fleeing the countries they helped destabilize

Romney is looking like a soothsayer when it comes to Russia.
Iran is out here supporting Assad, but the US had to negotiate with Iran to clamp down on their Nuclear program. But everyone wants to fight ISIS but no one in the west wants assad.
But whats worse it that the US has to effectively pull out since we DO NOT want to face off against Russia's forces.
Assad owns 20% of Syria now. shyt is gonna get a lot worse before it gets better
Then again, you can't be surprised that the US wanted Assad gone because Hizbollah was getting support THROUGH Syria and thus Iran

The kurds have fought long and hard and are secular, reasonable people who support the West. If only this option was on the table, I'd be happy to see it through. I have a few kurdish friends from high school (weird enough) and i've come to understand their plight.
