These sentences for lying to the FBI for these white collar/political minor or major figures are never going to be very much. It is more of a message/statement to them, and their lifestyles than it is an actual prison sentence. The guilty plea is the real consequence. That won't look good anywhere. The max for lying to the FBI is 5, mitigate that with cooperation, and it will rarely be more than a few months, in these instances. Martha Stewart didn't cooperate and was evasive during plea negotiations, so she got a longer term.
