Operation Pavutyna continues.
In yet another stunning failure by Russian special services, Ukrainian forces allegedly executed a highly effective precision strike on a Russian military train. The attack resulted in the destruction of roughly a regiment sized unit worth of equipment. The attack left the entire transport operation exposed and immobilized, with no effective resistance mounted in response.
According to Russian Telegram the strike was facilitated by a covert infiltration of grain hopper cars on the train. At a critical moment, hatches on the grain containers flew open, and Ukrainian drones were deployed directly from within the gain hoppers. These drones proceeded to attack the lead locomotive disabling it causing the train to come to a complete stop and then proceeded to attack the equipment on adjacent flat cars. The unconventional method of using disguised grain hoppers to smuggle in combat drones raises serious questions about Russian operational planning and counterintelligence capabilities.
Ukraine Southern Forces Command claims Russian Equipment Losses:
1x Railway Locomotive
13x Tanks
7x Artillery Systems
103x Units of Automotive and Armored Equipment
10x Fuel Tank Cars, carrying an estimated 158,000–172,000 gallons of fuel
Russian Telegram claims the loss of a locomotive destroyed with tanks and "dozens of armoured vehicles"
For now we wait for further details on the nature of this attack.

My personal opinion, I don't believe that drones were exclusively used in this attack. The previous two attacks on Russian fuel trains in this area have been a combination of direct sabotage limited quantity of drones and missiles likely that this was conducted again in a similar manner, though the drones likely would have targeted the lead locomotive. For now we will just have to wait for more information

Total amount of manpower and equipment losses for the day. The majority of the equipment losses were on this train

@vonClownsewitz
They're finally hitting logistics, interesting.
Embarrassing for Russia. Do they not inspect before loading shyt onto their trains, are they so cocky that their logistics trains are unguarded? I'd assume they had personnel on board to facilitate the hatches on the grain containers flying open at the right time...

Don't even care if this is true, the thought of Ukrainian drones emerging from a grain car is hilarious. Hope it's true though.

It was great how they gave "information" to the Americans about a potential sea drone attack on Russian shipping, knowing that this would be leaked to the Russians and the US media, to provide a distraction that enabled the success here.

Why grain hoppers in military train though?
