Well yeah, but your point can apply to the NATO coalition as well, they are motivated more by anti-Russia sentiment versus pro-US/Ukraine. And don't discount the fact that some African countries retain fond memories of Russia's support during their freedom struggles against Western colonial powers.

The abstain/nay votes are all from the Global South and account for half the world's population. Those were also symbolic, nonbinding votes. When it came to applying some teeth behind those votes and voting Russia off the UN Security Council, even more of the Global South refused to support get behind it. The same pattern will apply in future votes about reparations and war crime tribunals. The African, Arab, and Asian world by-in-large do not care about this war.
