I had a feeling when I read about this years ago that there was pervasive negligence from the top to bottom and that this happened due to them running a cheap barebones operation and I still have that viewpoint. This girl is 26. In 2021, she would’ve been 23. Why is a 23 year old girl the sole person in charge of managing the guns on set?

I don't care how much gun safety you have. Telling an actor he is shooting blanks, and giving him live rounds will lead to a brandon lee situation. At some point they are going to have to point and shoot those guns at wherever the scene dictates them too.

Depends on what she put on her resume. Apparently her father is well known armorer who did movies like Tombstone and 3;10 to Yuma. If she claimed have apprenticed under him, i don't see why they should be blame for negligence in hiring her. However if they just hired her as a favor to her daddy, then yeah. the nepotism cost a life and they should be held accountable for that.
