I'm making a comment about comedians specifically... because that's the topic at hand...
comedy based on stereotypes is a perfectly acceptable aspect of the artform....
making fun of asians for eating dog
making fun of white people for being corny or sharing their wives etc.
making fun of indians for smelling musty...
its part of a comedians job to poke fun at what exists, stereotypes and all....
Stereotypes used in regular life to demean or oppress people is a completely different issue...
Clark def a standup guy, and Schulz is a clown. I have never watched any of his shyt for more than 30 seconds.
My question is at what point do we stop the excuses and do the work to improve our community though? As somebody who pretty much exclusively dates black women, they can be a unnecessarily untrusting and combative and to be honest, its tiresome. And while I understand the trauma that causes a lot of it, it isnt an excuse.
