I don’t understand why certain players try to always make a point about every single athlete being the same person.

Some people would be pissed, some happy, some in between. But hot take artists like RC always want it to be black or white, and because he’s an athlete it should be exactly the way he would feel. Unless he’s discussing with another greater athlete, then it’s magically up for debate.

Also, this dude has been on tv for about a decade and is already the P4P all time leader of apologies :mjlol:

Clark continues to be a clown. He’s the reason I don’t watch the Pivot anymore. Drama king always making headlines arguing with grown men. Truly tries to hard. Just because you didn’t play in the league doesn’t mean you can’t know ball. Schrager always been a solid tv guy on NFL Network.

MJ was the best player of all time but a terrible basketball executive. Matt Millen was a great football player but the worst NFL GM ever. Half these ex players on tv are trash analysts. Zero reason to disrespect Shrager like that
Yeah that's one sore spot that ex-pros gotta avoid: "you ain't play in the league" isn't an argument. You resort to that when you're losing a debate.

Belichick, Walsh etc., didn't play in the league either but they still knew ball. If you have a ton of knowledge as a former player.....just use that knowledge as drop facts

What was the context..like what was the topic..from the clip it didn’t seem like Peter was saying anything that warranted anybody getting into a debate lol

And that guy was just on bill simmons last pod talking about how he hasn’t really got into any drama/spicy clips yet at espn yet ..bill was like “oh it’s coming” :russ:
They were discussing if you played well but still lost , you don't want anyone (family) saying that shyt to you especially right after the game and let you deal with it internally and allow you to speak on it when you are ready

I'm still not sure why RC apologized. Schrager did have a homotional response. Just calm down lil buddy.
Using the “you never played in the league card” will always have you looking like a sore loser.

If you preface your comment by apologizing beforehand, should you actually be saying it in the first place?

Nahhhh if you look at that original tweet, Awful announcing posted right under it an article posting the full context of discussion like they do for all of their stories.

RC is just going to have to stop taking discussions into a personal direction and then apologizing right after.
Then why post it in the article no one clicks? Post the full context in the original tweet if it you wanted to be unbiased.

And nothing about what he said was personal. He was simply trying to offer an insight into a pro's mindset. And whether y'all like it or not., that's something only players would experience and one of the few times the "you ain't played" take is more than valid. Peter overreacted like he insulted his entire being instead of just letting him make his point.

They weren't debating tactics here, they were discussing the mindset of an NFL player after a night where they made costly plays.

I enjoy former and current athletes in media, I do think it creates a nice balance and gives their peers a comfortable place to talk and answer questions but once you go to "you've never played the game" it just becomes annoying. Yes, there are certain perspectives you can give and add context to something a normal fan wouldn't know/see but 80% of these guys get on these shows and become hot take artists and i dont learn anything new from them. Its obvious at this point, you dont need "to play that sport professionally" to break it down as people like Mina Kimes, Zach Lowe and countless other analysts/journalists break down their sports as well if not better for the average fan than the former athletes just wanting to reiterate how nobody really knows what an athlete goes through :beli:

Using the "you've never played in the league card" is making it personal breh as you're throwing shots as someone's credentials and essentially telling them they don't know what they are talking about.

If you have to preface your comment by apologizing beforehand, you should have not said what you said. It was an unnecessary comment that added nothing to the topic of discussion.

I don’t usually like when athletes pull the “you never played” card but Ryan only said that to give his perspective off of what he said. I’m with RC on this one, yeah the didn’t play card has a negative connotation but you can quite clearly tell that was not his intention to belittle him. Dude didn’t even let him finish his point and instantly got homotional :mjlol:

Someone needs to lead what that off the air interaction entailed if it was bad enough that leadership had to get involved.
He’s a repeat offender

he says or does something then checks the temperature outside and if it’s too hot he doubles back and apologizes while passive aggressively blaming everyone else for their normal reaction

I don’t know what lane he’s trying to occupy he can’t even rely on wit or charisma which SAS has as much I can’t stand him sometimes

I’m also curious if this erratic behavior is CTE related not even joking here
