It won’t happen but you could do the Remmick story parallel to the SmokeStack story. While they are infiltrating the mobs in Chicago, Remmick is making his way to Mississippi while running from the Native America Vampire hunters.
GoT had multiple plots dealing with politics in one part of the world and supernatural elements in another part.
I hate to say it but the Native Americans chasing Remmick would be the most interesting sequel. We know a lot about the twins, a whole lot. Coogler was very good in showing who they were to understand why they made the choices they made.

Those Native’s Chasing Remmick makes me think he had been terrorizing them earlier and once they got him off their land they was like fukk it.

then the movie loses a lot of its racial framing and just becomes a vampire hunter film

That’s why I hated to say it. I just don’t think it’s a movie with space for a prequel or a sequel.

This movie works cause of how it’s framed and when and I don’t know if it fits outside of it. shyt we don’t know if the vampires even need to feed like that. Remmick was controlling them and making them kill.

So while this movie was fantastic. Not everything needs a sequel.

I think one of the most harmful things about Black American culture was allowing Voodoo, Vodun, Obeah, and other ancestral African spiritual practices to be lumped into "witchcraft".

It's not something I personally practice but I don't think it's "demonic".
Those things are witchcraft and demonic

And African Americans gonna be in for a rude awakening cosplaying and jumping on this “these were are real ways” bandwagon (I understand why because we long for our stolen past)

But talk to some real Africans living overseas.

This ish is real and ppl don’t f with it never have and can’t understand yall new love affair with “thinking” it’s the way.

I got more but I’ll let the thread rock

This movie wasn't on my radar at all, but wanted to see the IMAX 70mm version once I started to hear how good it was. Unfortunately, I caught on too late and the only theater 'near' me (30 miles away) had been sold out for weeks. :to:

Had to watch regular degular IMAX, which was still a good experience.

I'm not saying we should practice it. I'm simply for giving it the same respect we give anyone who practices any religion that isn't a form of Christianity.

And before you say "that's demonic too", REALLY think about whether that's your first reaction when you meet a Black person who practices Islam or is a Buddhist. The association between African spiritual practices, African music/dance, and demonic activity was (and is) intentional.

Besides a lot of that stuff shares origins with how Black people worship in Christian churches. Whole separate denominations were created because Black Methodists, Lutherans, and Baptists were considered too loud/passionate in church. :russ:

Bruh have you lost your mind? This is a major topic in many African communities :why:

I recently participated in a fellowship program that taught Black Americans about ancestral West African history, lineage, spirituality and language for 23 weeks, then we went to Benin, West Africa for 10 days.

Our instructor and guide who speaks the indigenous language (Fongbe) and is an expert in Vodun explained the history and ethos about it. I have pages of notes, the shyt isn't evil. Just like the concept of Mother Nature isn't evil.

Just saw this in my feed for context...

I ain't gon read through this whole thread, but did anyone else point out that
it was the quarter breed chick who was first invited in, used that thang to seduce the breh, and pretty much lead to their downfall? :wow: Shannon Sharpe in the cut like :jbhmm:.

Also, why would Sammie continue singing/playing after he knows his singing invites evil?
Now this shyt got me fukked up cuz I'm dating a chick that's black, white and Puerto Rican :lupe:

I get that. But if you know how his abilities work, as well how he works, then nighttime or not, its easier to take him at lower numbers than it is for him to roam for a night. Look at all the people he turned in one night. If it wasn't for the kid keeping him around and unaware of what time it was, they would go to sleep for the day with even greater numbers for the next night. If they survived they definitely would have hit the town the next night especially considering his evangelical approach to turning people. And that hive mind shyt would make it even harder to stop him.

That's a major problem I had. They had knowledge of what he was and how to stop him. They almost finished him off then they left and didn't return.

I would've preferred if they had some more involvement later. Would've been better to have them explain the concept of vampires instead of Annie since they fought him. The way they did it lacked weight.

Remmick was a good villain but giving us more of the Choctaw would've expanded his story. What was the lead up to them hunting him? That could've added some much needed lore.

That's too bad to hear, because that was my favorite scene in the whole movie, because it wasn’t just about dancing—it was a visual tribute to the evolution of Black culture.
Is that why they had the geisha dancers in there doing an oriental jig :mjlol:
