Just saw it and loved it, it's True Blood meets Ray meets Boardwalk Empire meets 30 Days Of Night...

The music was absolutely beautiful and the mix of OG Black Actors passing the torch down to the new was a nice addition...

I know they read the Coli cause Pearline ain't wash up and Sammy still handled his business....lol

Great movie!
Yup Coogler saw my dawg @King_Kamala61 posts and said I'm putting that shyt in a movie!!!

:whoa: Chill homie Coogler going down as a G.O.A.T.
fukk dat dude.

He ruined Tchalla and then he comes out with this bullshyt making my Delta folk look stupid.

They know what Haints is but not Vamos?????

Don't let me start with the tacky dialogue and the anticlimatic scene of the vamos vs the survivors

OR

How he wasted the Choctaw potential by only showcasing black Choctaw.....

You get all the best info told to you in backstory off screen about the twins.

Ryan Coogler shytty ass flawed story board following mixed with his shyt writing, makes Tyler Perry look like Steven Spielberg masterpiece.

Plus you in the Delta and playing blues and mention the devil, just to have the big bad be a Vamp? He don't know shyt about Southern mythology.

Then you spend too much of the budget on dumb shyt like musical selections, you get a total of 26 mins of action and to try and save grace his bad directing ass decided to throw in the klans shootout with no one wearing their robes to put extra emphasis on the visuals.

i missed it

spoiler tag it for me please

man i wish i knew this had post creds

Timeskip to Sammy being old in the 90s and playing blues with a scar on his face. Killing it. Then at the end someone visits him and the guard asks if he minds. He says no. So the guard says off-screen, "you can come in" and Sammy pauses.

In walks MBJ young as the day the shyt went down... with Hailee Steinfeld. Both dressed in modern times (90s.) Sammy stares at them and finally asks "How?"

This MBJ is Stack, and he says that Smoke wasn't able to go through with killing him. Made him promise to Stay away from Sammy and his powerful music, so Stack did… Until now. Stax smells Sammy and says that death is coming soon, so he asks if Sammy wants to turn into a vampire with them.

Sammy declines. Says he's spent enough time in this world.

Stack respects it.

Sammy plays for them one last time on the repaired version of that same guitar. Then Stack and Hailee actually hug him, say goodbye, and leave him to whats rest of his life.

Sammy stops them and says that he still has nightmares of that night, but before everything went down it was the best day of his life to this day. He asks Stack if it was the same for him.

Stack says it was. That for a few hours in his life he was actually free. But that night is the last time he saw his brother and the last time he saw the sun. Then he and Hailee walk out.

and these mfs put that shyt BEHIND THE CREDITS!!!

The shyt could've been left on the editing floor. It provided nothing of substance and tied no new strings. It was just dumb Negro logic writing that he felt the need to put it in there to make muthafukkas who read with their fingers, feel intelligent.

This is a peg up from the power universe...

Peele, Jackson, Perry* and Coogler are the new holy Trinity* of smart dumb Negro TV.

And I'm sick of it. I'm sick of how y'all not seeing how this dude ain't it for real and letting his flaws disappear under the veil of support cause he is black. I'm tired of it.

Edit: Addition via afterthought and drug fueled tangent carelessness.

Saw it in IMAX yesterday and enjoyed it, honestly hard for me to hype it up too much since I feel like there's some things I might of missed with the first watch. Wasn't anticipating the music being such a big aspect but that was great and what really made this feel unique. I do think the pacing felt off and honestly the cinematography (not sure if it was just my theater) looked off, but other parts looked amazing. Honestly thought the post credit scene really elevated the ending for me personally, than then ending before the credit.

MBJ just needs to work with Coogler from now on cause breh's acting is just different with him and Delroy stole the show (not surprising). Everyone was pretty great.

I really like the twist regarding the vampire's motivations and made it more interesting than the type vampire film trope. I also think that twist might of been what they were planning to use in the earlier drafts of the MCU blade movie.
