What he's saying about the direct to consumer and going straight to them is some shyt I've been thinking for a while. For example I never understood why these artists allow datpiff and livemixtapes to just give their mixtapes away for free. Why don't they have their own sites in which they have exclusive domain for a certain period of time in which you can only download it from them? It might be too late to do that now. They've pretty much trained the user to just goto those sites for their content

because.....he prolly acted like a bytch when Puff took Cassie and instead of just producing/getting placements and taking that damn L, he bugged out because his bytch got knocked. Also, he kept at the singing (then rapping) instead of going extra hard with the production. I truly believe he woulda been aight after the Puff situation if he only produced but dude almost behaved like he had something to prove with being an artists (which is fine). Homie literally wasted his own beats on himself instead of feeding cats like Usher, Terius, Trey Songz and even fakkit ass Bieber.

The problem with this cat, was he didn't lean on his strengths.

Everyone's not an artist. This dude is a helluva producer. He makes great beats. That's what he should've stuck with. He wanted to be this Drake/Kanye hybrid artist, and the shyt didn't work. He should've been investing in artists, and working on laying down those sound beds for them. There was a time in music when people didn't mind being in the background. But now everyone wants to be seen, not just heard. If this dude would've just focused on production, his name would be crazy right now. Guaranteed.

No doubt he is talented but I cant take his music serious....Dude has 0 swag, and no charisma yet raps/sings like he's the Boss of the industry. His lyrics are forced!

Lol, half of you didn't even listen to the interview. He explains exactly what hes been doing and is doing more than ok with his chosen path. Popularity is the only area in which he is not reaching his potential.

Ryan makes good music. Only thing I don't like is him focusing too much on rapping and not on bringing more talented singers to the game. Lord knows we don't need anymore rappers. I want another Whitney Houston or something damn.

If he could find me one.. if he could find us one, then produce a dope ass album for that person then he'll be bringing music back. Ain't bringing music forward when you're too focused on yourself. That's like Timbaland rapping his whole career, wasting all them good ass beats instead of hooking other people up. When I say 'waste' I don't mean as in their raps suck, waste cause they don't have enough reach when they only rap. Stick to co-rapping on features instead of trying to be the main show.

I blame Kanye.

Rapper producers wanna duplicate Kanye's success so bad.

You can't be Yeezy, stoooooop.
