it's an infamous game, but I'm not sure how much it sold. it was PC only, and no one could "run it". but I'm sure it's had some decent sales over time

it's two sequels probably sold more, considering they're available on consoles. but at the same time, those games we're generally considered worse than the first game

but yeah, OG Crysis being a 'hit' is pretty much all they got going for them, and that was awhile ago

Crysis was a forward thinking game as far as technology. That future rigs would be able to run it with all bells and whistles whereas some games like Sim City 4 and Ultima 9 will run slow on your PC no matter when your PC is made because those games are coded poorly. As to what I was saying, Crysis was just a game wrapped around a game engine. That has always been their goal, engine licensing. That is why they said they want to do F2P games.

CryEngine has never sold anywhere near what Unreal Engine does. I've always wondered why. UE has a "look" to it that very few game get away from. CryEngine has always seemed better to me.

I didn't think Ryse was going get a sequel in the first place. Now the studio might fall..that's just messed up.
