RZA gave Pun a better beat than he gave Biggie.

I remember RZA saying in the XXL magazine about the making of Life After Death that Puff’s production team reworked the beat for LKG so maybe that’s why that beats doesn’t really sound as aggressive as a typical RZA beat that time still typically would but Tres Leches bangs way harder and always has

tres leches is shyt compared to long kiss goodnight
and long kiss goodnight is vintage rza. GZA, rae and deck woulda killed that beat

Wow, it’s the complete opposite for me

LKG has the melody but doesn’t bang in the whip like a RZA beat at that time would’ve

Tres Leches bangs and then those Roc Raida scratches :wow:

LKG is the better beat to me. Tres Leches is no slouch tho, shyt's incredible. If I remember the story correctly, didn't Deck just pop into the studio that day and hop on the track?

I don’t remember but if that’s so, it probably said in that XXL interview about the naming of Capital Pubishment or in an interview of Deck’s

Shouts to Roc Raida from X-Ecutioners for the scratches too

Even if that's how Deck remembers it, I'm guessing the label organized this some as all 3 were Loud artists.

Long Kiss Goodnight sounded like a beat made for Forever…

In an alternate reality,I could see that being a posse cut with Ghost, Rae, Biggie if they squashed the beef. That song was cinematic and u know that a RZA prime era isn’t a track without him making those random sounds.

I’m picking Tres Leches…

The Cake tasted like my GFs breast milk plus Inspectah Deck held his own on that song. If only we had more of those tracks on his debut.. :mjcry:

Said this before.
I don't think RZA produced Tres Leches.
It sounds nothing like a RZA beat, especially the drums.

I actually said the same when Capital Punishment dropped.

Back then, it was pretty much the word that he didn't actually produce this. Then later, he had some story about how he liked Pun so much as an MC, that he gave him this beat for free. That's when the rumor came back that he didn't make this beat, at all. LOL!!
