Maaaaan...in 94-98 the only way to listen was buying the cd or the bootleg somewhere...LOTS OF BLACK KIDS BOUGHT ALL THOSE CD's and TAPES. There used to be cd/tape stores in the hood(and I'm not talkin bout bootleg shyt)...maybe you dubbed off the radio...I don't know , but most nikkas I knew had no problem comin by 12 - 18 dollars for music. I mean, one of the things we talk about on a consistent basis is black entrepeneurship, it's all about changing the hands that we've been dealt and putting as many black people in a position to work and employ other black men and women so they don't have to go to others that more than likely don't care for them. It really does seem like a slave mentality...I mean, like you said, I don't knock anybody for making a living, got to do what you got to do...but the mentality the older generations of black people had was basically all about working for others and not having something to pass down to children...you can't pass down a job to your kids...you can pass down a business.
