Assassination Day has always been my favorite Rza beat. It's so damn ill. The way the beat comes in after the intro at 0:41
Hot97 didnt even play the track past the intro, like they were thinking that was the main beat already. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if that was the case. Brushing it of as some throwaway track...
Premier responded to Assassination Day with NY State of Mind, which was a great chess move. Premo rightfully won that round. But Assassination Day is a fukking classic in it's own right.
Aside from the beat, I always loved the boldness of having a posse cut that doesn't feature Ghost on his debut album. Masta Killah, Rza and especially Deck tore the track up something fierce.

Everyone was shytting on that track - it definitely isn’t a top 20 RZA track but it’s a great RZA song. Decks verse is impeccable which is why I think he just played it

......then he came back Triumph and Wu Tang clan ain't nothing to fukk with. These are not just hip hop classics, these are tracks that transcended genre. Mass appeal is a classic but it simply can't stand toe to toe with Cream. Even if we may view CREAM as a little played out today. Nothing will compare to that feeling when you first heard it. Top 5 most influential hip hop track ever. Rza took an eerie piano loop and turned that shyt into a smash hit. Wu ain't nothing to fukk with easily over crooklyn. Triumph over Represent but this is a matter of taste. But just like Cream, Triumph is not just a classic it's iconic. Wu went platinum with an underground posse cut
