S.1083: Cory Booker's Reparations Study Commission Bill

Bill is pointless. The country is going to overcorrect in the next election and Progressives are the wave. He should go straight for the jugular and push a bill that will actually deliver reparations, not a goddamn commission to study how it could be done.

The commission will get created, then get defunded 2022. But in the meantime, he'll have the AADOS vote in the primaries.

This is political theater.

Have you considered him and his team dont know how to write said bill?
and that the point of the study is to get the appropriate details?

I still am. I support Cory's too. But, a bill for a study does not mean you should get my vote for President. A study does not mean reparations.

But hr 40 is the first step to getting reparations. If your ultimate goal is B and it takes A to get to B, I’m confused as to why you wouldn’t support the people who are trying to get to A. How are we supposed to get to the B without A?

I still think reparations is being framed somewhat incorrectly. I would make an argument at least up to the civil rights act that way people cant try that it was along time ago bullshyt since people from that era are still living.

the bill is flawed and a far cry from Sandy Darity's model

Booker's bill only goes up to 1865 and is nowhere near as encompassing as Darity's framework

Hope the Dems are prepared to go all in on this. You get people’s hopes up, play around and don’t deliver, and you create apathy. So, while they could bs with this now and get some votes just off the mention, they’ll put theirselves in another Trump position in 2022/2024 if no results.

Either way, I’d need to really go over this before I could say he’d get my vote. I won’t be just giving mine out. Good thing about this now, is you can gauge ones true motives and genuineness by having this pumped out early.
